2019-2020 Open House

Yet another successful open house at BHSN

Welcome back to school, Cougars! We had yet another successful open house Monday, Aug. 19. 

If arrived early, attendees got to witness the orchestra in their first semi-official performance of the year as our beginning-of-the-evening entertainment. Their next event is scheduled for October. Many North clubs also hosted tables to showcase their clubs for the parents. 

Ms. Brittain-Watts then spoke to the parents about our new school year. The parents were also introduced to each grade level’s guidance counselors and assistant principals. Brittain-Watts mainly discussed the  importance of timeliness and getting to class on time and the implementation of the success period into our daily schedule. Den will continue to meet on Mondays at 10:50 and success period will convene on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We will continue to have tutorials on Thursdays and Fridays. Fridays are also the days when clubs will convene, so make sure to sign up on the scheduler, which can be accessed at https://plus.mccsc.edu/bhsn/login.php. 

All the parents that attended had a chance to walk through their student’s schedule. This gave them an opportunity to receive copies of the course syllabi and meet their student’s teachers. This event is always a great one to attend for new parents at North.   

We look forward to what this new year will bring. Remember to respect yourself, respect others, be responsible for your own actions and remember it’s great to be a cougar!
